Math Society the Club is looking to field teams in a few intramural competitions this year. If you are looking for a fun way to get active this year check out:
A favourite of our cross the hall rivals in Computer Science, Ultimate Frisbee will test your endurance and quickness, as well as your ability to catch a flying disk. You will need to practice mentally plotting the skewed parabolic path of a frisbee in 3-space. You will also need fast hands to catch a plastic spinning former-novelty-toy. No previous experience is necessary. Games are on Wednesdays between 5 and 9pm. $15 to join the team.
Update: The deadline for team entry is fast approaching. It seems that there will be enough interest to have an ultimate team. But there’s some difficulties still:
1. We need women. I know at least four men interesting in joining the team but the ultimate league is co-ed so we need to have at least two women on the team (preferably more so we can make substitutions for rest purposes). So if you are a lady going to the University and you want to play Ultimate, get in contact with me before Wednesday, Sept. 22nd and I’ll sign you up!
2. I need to get the information of everyone who wants to play, so call me at 519-990-8957 if you want to join our team. If I don’t answer just leave a message with your name, number and e-mail and I’ll get back to you.
